Stretch marks, baby belly, c-section scars, changes to breast size and shape and hair thinning. These are just some of the body changes you might be experiencing as a result of your pregnancy. Many women are very body-conscious and are keen to get back in shape as quickly as possible, but what is realistic?
You might expect that once your baby is born you'll pop back into shape quite quickly, however, considering your body has been slowly changing for 9 months, it's going to take time to change now too.
The best advice we can give is to listen to your body, not worry about how quickly other people have got back into shape as everyone varies, and just focus on eating healthily, looking after yourself and setting realistic goals.
"It is important that women realise that just as they took 9 months to produce a full grown baby it will take at least that long for them to regain some of their former shape"
